Can I set Flood Light brightness set for on vs motion?

Mduvee

Just installed the Nest Cam with floodlight.  See both the light and the camera as separate items in Google Home.  I have set the flood light timer to 1 minute and high motion sensitivity.  My question is can I set the light to 30% brightness (when it turns dark) and then 100% when it senses motion?  I would like the always on at night feature but don’t want it 100% bright unless needed.

Would love to know if this is possible?  Our light is set to 100% now (via Google routine) from Dusk till Dawn as I want a light on during the night.  BUT - would love for that light to be at 20%(ish) and then turn to 100% for motion events and then back to 20% based on the timer settings.  Seems reasonable- but don’t see a way to do this yet

I was just coming on to find this out as well seeing how this is very commonplace on floodlights and the one I'm replacing would do that.

Dusk would put the light on at 50% and motion would be full brightness for a time of 30 seconds to 5 mins.

Hey folks,

So sorry for the delay! The answer would be that no, you cannot turn on and off your floodlight as it is motion based, and/or based on the sensor. I invite y'all to check out this article on how to change the settings and which ones can be changed for the floodlight. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best regards,

Brad.

I guess I would just like a feature request for the ability to have the lights on at 50% (or whatever) and then motion activated to 100%.  Once that motion event is over (based on the settings), the lights would go back to 50%.

Seems pretty simple and quite standard for most motion sensor lights.

On another note, would really like the ability to add this camera to the NEST iOS application as the “Google Home” app for cameras is clunky, always delayed.  Any notice I get from Google home, I end up going to my nest camera in their app as it will respond in real time.  The Google home app always says something like video isn’t available yet (or something to that effect)

Not super happy with this purchase to be honest.  The NEST application and camera just seem more robust
