Just moved to rented house and landlord left Nest wired doorbell and gave us permission to use it. We also have the Nest thermostat. Thermostat works great. However, the doorbell needs to be reset to factory setting in order for us to use it. Tried to remove it from the wall per instructions but the tool doesn’t do anything. Is it supposed to loosen the doorbell? Seems like it’s glued on or something! Any way to remove it without the tiny tool? I’m going crazy with this thing!

The problem is solved! Landlord came and had to pull it off with pliers!

The small pin tool or a standard paper clip. Either way, once inserted from the bottom of the camera, the camera should literally just pop off the mount. Perhaps asking the previous user of the camera if they modified the mount during install?

Thanks Rubes, I’ve tried so many times with the pin tool that it’s bent at this point. I asked the previous user today because he must have modified the mount! He said it should just pop off too, but it’s not happening. Good to know that it’s supposed to work that way so that we can troubleshoot from there!!

Hey LalaP,
I'm so glad you were able to get it pulled off of the mount. Since we've come to a solution here, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread. If you have any other concerns or questions, please feel free to create a new thread.
Have a great day!
