I have a battery doorbell but struggle with not having an in-house audible chime. I also don't seem to be able to get either an audible or vibration phone notification when the battery doorbell is activated. Is it possible to convert the doorbell to a wired set up to connect it to an existing electronic doorbell?

Yes, you can connect the battery doorbell to existing doorbell wires. You can see the installation instructions here:

You'll want to make sure your doorbell's transformer meets Google Nest requirements:

Note that many customers have reported in this forum they needed to upgrade to a 16V 30VA transformer for their Google Nest doorbell.

If you have a Nest Mini or Nest Hub, you could use "Visitor announcements" either instead of or in addition to an indoor doorbell chime (enabled with "Indoor chime" option):
