Cannot turn on Nest notifications on iPhone

There is no option on my iPhone 12 plus to turn on notifications for my Nest doorbell. I follow all the instructions and then nothing comes up when I get to where I would turn on notifications! WHY?! Can I not use it with an iPhone? My doorbell doesn’t ring so if I can’t get phone notifications it’s pointless!
