Doorbell (Battery) states "Can't connect to assisting device"

When trying to use the set up process I am instructed to touch my Nest Protects wake up button and then continue. However, it searches for the assisting device for several minutes before stating, "Can't connect to assisting device.” Is there a way to by pass this process and set up manually?

Sorry to hear about that. Let's get this sorted out.

 

A few questions — how far is the Nest Protect from the Nest Doorbell (battery)? Are you getting a code during setup?

 

During setup, your Nest camera or doorbell will try to get Wi-Fi information from the other Nest product in your home. You can create a different home and setup your device or follow the article on how to Troubleshoot Nest camera and doorbell setup message for steps.
