Doorbell access by household member

Adrianh1
Community Member

In my Google Home app, I’ve invited ‘Joe’ to be a hh member. Joe got an email at his AOL address and clicked the ‘accept’ button. In my Google Home app Joe is listed as a hh member with his AOL address. Joe’s status is ‘invited’. Should this status change once Joe accepts the invitation?

What does Joe have to do now to use the Doorbell? When Joe downloads the Google Home app to his phone, Joe is directed  to use an ‘account’ to continue. How does Joe’s copy of Google Home associate him with the house on my Google Home app? Does he:

* use ‘my’ Google account,

* use his AOL account associated with his email address,

* or must Joe create a google account

or is there some place on Joe’s app that lets him associate to my ‘house?’

You have to have a Google (gmail) account to be a member of a Google Nest "household".

Hi folks,

@Adrianh1, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Have him accept the invite and sign in to the Google Home app with the same email you used to invite him. In case you did try the steps provided by MplsCustomer, you may post your update here.

I appreciate your response, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
