When I ring my nest doorbell the noise chimes and then there is a delay, sometimes a few seconds, then the nest will say "someone's at the front door". It is pretty long for a doorbell ring and I would like a way to turn off the announcing where the doorbell is ringing but keep the chime noise on. At the very least a way to change the length of the doorbell ringing message, normal doorbells aren't 5 seconds of sound. Is there some way to only have the chime and not the talking part of the doorbell?

Google Nest does not let us configure this. I've seen lots of posts in this forum from customers asking for the option to get just a chime sound on "Visitor announcements".

Hi folks,
Kinash, thanks for reaching out. Modifying the notification sound is not supported. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — I'd suggest you submit feedback about it, here's how. Keep your eye on the Google Nest Community page for any updates.
Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours if I won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
Thanks for the help here, MplsCustomer.
Regards,
Juni
