Nest doorbell battery

Noticed my nest doorbell (battery) needed charging.   Charged it and it said that it was fully charged.  Mounted it and it’s working but it says that it’s only has 15% of the battery left. I plugged it back in to charge and it said it was fully charged.  What can I do?

Hello Mandyble,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; we'll check this out. Just a few questions: How long have you charged the Nest Doorbell battery? Did you use the charger that came with it? If so, have you tried doing a factory reset and reinstalling it on the Google Home app? Check out this link on how to do a factory reset on the Nest Doorbell battery.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Best,

Edmond

Hi Edmond,

I did use the charging cord that came with the doorbell, that’s all that came with it.  I had to use my own usb plug.  When I charged it the battery was pretty depleted so it charged almost all day to get it to be 100%.  I haven’t tried the factory reset yet.

thanks!

Hi Mandyble,

Thanks for the response. Let me know once you factory reset the Nest Doorbell and reinstall the Google Home app. Check if the battery is still showing 15%.

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,
Edmond

Hi.  I did the factory reset early today, but I knew the battery needed charging anyway.  So the doorbell is charging, however now it says that it’s going to take 631 hours to charge!

Hi!  Looks like it worked for now.  Will I have to do this every time I charge it?

Hi folks,

@Mandyble, I'm happy to hear that everything has been sorted out. Please note that you don't need to factory reset your Nest Doorbell battery every time you have to charge it. We did this as a part of our troubleshooting to refresh your doorbell back to its default state.

In the meantime, I'll go ahead and lock this thread within 24 hours. If you run into any more questions in the future, please feel free to create a new thread.

Thanks for your help here, Edmond.

All the best,

Zoe
