Doorbell battery no chime on nest hub

I can view the camera if I tell my nest hub to see the front doorbell and I get the notifications to my phone but my google nest mini and nest hub will not chime or show me who's at the door (the whole reason I have either) 

I am on battery and it says electronic chime does not work on battery but also in the description of the device it says it will work on battery with the nest hub.

I am having the same problem with a wired doorbell. It used to work.

I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. It is correct that there is no Chime required, but the Nest Doorbell (battery) doesn't work with a chime unless you have a smart display/speaker to use with it.
