We had our Nest doorbell (battery) installed about three years ago with the installer using a cable to charge it direct from the mains. It has, from time to time, stopped working and it seems to have been due to a drained battery.
The doorbell went offline about four days ago and will not restart. I've tried rebooting the router, turning off and on the power and pulling out the plug and then putting it back in but still no good.
Does anybody else have any suggestions? I'm wondering if the battery version can only deal with being plugged in for so long and it has now reached its natural end of life.
ChatGPT suggested I removed it and re-added it but now I'm stuck as I don't have the doorbells ID number. Does anyone know if there's a workaround for that?
Lastly I'm trying to cancel Nest Aware Plus whilst the doorbell is inoperable but the instructions take me in a continual circle. Does anyone have a workaround for that too please?
