I've installed a Gen 2 nest doorbell camera. It works great in the home app. However, it will not add to the nest app. The set up process freezes up at the point where you select the last 4 of the serial number. Is there an issue with the app? Thanks in advance

As we discovered when we bought the 2nd gen Google Nest Battery Camera over 3 years ago, Google Nest's 2nd gen cameras and doorbells work only in the Google Home app and not in the Google Nest app. So we've been using 2 apps ever since.

If you have a 2nd gen Nest Aware subscription or a Nest Aware Plus subscription (which we've had since 2020), they cover all 1st gen cameras and doorbells (those installed in the Google Nest app) and 2nd gen cameras and doorbells (those installed in the Google Home app).
If you have the older 1st gen Nest Aware subscription (which Google Nest has been trying to get us to move off of since 2019), those subscriptions cover only specific 1st gen cameras and doorbells.
