Doorbell is offline

Recently upgraded our modem and kept same user ID and password. Now doorbell is offline.

Did you mean you kept the same network name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password? If you did, that would seem to be enough. (See the link at the bottom.)

Perhaps the doorbell also needs to be restarted in order to reconnect. We have the older Google Nest Hello Doorbells, but when we have had minor issues (rarely), I've turned the doorbells' electrical circuit breaker in our circuit breaker box off and on just to force the doorbells to restart. I suppose you could also try these instructions for using the reset pin to restart (not factory reset) your doorbell: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?hl=en#zippy=%2Cnest-doorbell-nd-gen-wired

These are guesses on my part, as we don't have the 2nd gen doorbell. Can you still see the doorbell in the Google Home app?
