My Nest Doorbell is currently charging and every 30 seconds to a minute is makes a sound ("ba-da-dup"). I don't remember this happening when I've charged it previously. Is there any way to turn the sound off? Thanks!

Hi there,
Sorry to hear that. Are you using the provided charging cable? Are the cables seated properly?
If possible, please share a clip of this so we can check this further.

Hi Steve - did you also see @ruralgreg message? Do you have any real suggestions?
Yes I am using the cable it came with and yes it is working, obviously because it is charging. However it takes 10 hours to charge and that is ten hours of the noise every 30 seconds, please help.

Hey folks,
Sorry for the long wait we are always busy and unfortunately cannot get to all threads quickly. In this case, have y'all made sure that you are using the correct charging cables? Have you done all other troubleshooting steps like restarts, factory resets, checking the physical status of the device and cables?
Best regards,
Brad

Hi all,
Just wanted to share that I have submitted a warranty claim on this which is what you have to do to get service (I have also tried all of the above steps several times). Going through warranty is a painstaking process where a random number will try to call you at a random time and if you miss it they will try to call you again maybe a week later. This went on for several weeks until I finally got someone on the phone who was completely unresponsive and said they had never heard of my issue and didn’t know how to troubleshoot. I now charge the doorbell in the basement or leave the house for several hours while it charges.
best,
ali

I have two cameras and both are sporadically on even though they are connected to Wi-Fi. I have one also constantly plugged in but it still will not turn on occasionally.
also if not docked while charging, it will beep every 30 seconds. Overall I barely use these cameras and they are mostly decorative at this point.

Hey Ggalvan1,
I’m sorry to hear that. No worries, let’s get this sorted — a few questions: what types of Nest cameras do you have? When did the issue start? How far are your Nest cameras from the router? Are your cameras paired to a 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz WiFi frequency? Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera? Also, are there other devices connected to the same WiFi where the camera is connected to?
Give these steps a try:
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
JT

Still same issue. You guys are useless. This camera continues to make noise while charging. Thankfully, it’s my in-laws so I don’t have to deal with the noise. I’m just glad I went with Ring for our home.

Hi
04-03-2022 08:47 AM
Same problem here. Makes a da-da-dup sound while charging. Could one of you specialist answer instead of just dropping in to check? Is there a way you shut the doorbell off while charging? I’ve noticed in the app it will show as charging and then jump to “remount doorbell” while making this noise.

Yes can we get real help here rather then you badge seeking google blokes. About to throw this think across the room and return it 😡😡😡
06-07-2022 01:34 PM
One of you “Google geniuses” answer the dang question?
06-20-2022 04:27 PM
I’m experiencing the same problem.

Spouse and I just switched which brick we're using for the charging cord and it stopped beeping! Do this! I guessed it might be the base because of this google answer:
" Get a full charge in approximately 5 hours with a 7.5W charger (not included), and then reinstall it outside."

Hey all,
If you're still experiencing this, I would suggest you try to factory reset your device, which you can learn more about here. Please let us know if you need further assistance, if that doesn't do the trick.
Best regards,
Brad
