Doorbell will not Mount

My google nest doorbell will not mount because the top button is stuck. Customer service was less than helpful. There seems to be so many complaints about this button getting stuck (which makes the device completely useless). How does no one at google care to address this issue or help out?

I've seen quite a few posts about the mounting mechanism for the battery doorbell, which is unfortunate for a doorbell that needs to be regularly dismounted and remounted to charge the battery.

A few posts have suggested using a little bit of WD-40 to lubricate the button/mounting mechanism.

(I am NOT speaking from experience; we have three 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, which are wired and haven't been dismounted in years.)
