Doorbell will not connect after scanning

I am connecting to an existing doorbell in a house I bought (old owner deleted the account).  When I go to add a device and then get to scan the QR code - it gives me the check mark that it read the QR code but then it just goes back to the dashboard as if nothing happened.  It keeps happening when I try again and again (even after closing and re-opening the app).  Suggestions?

Hey Rbrandolph,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's check — what's the status light of your Nest doorbell? What phone are you using to set it up (Android, iOS)? Have you tried reinstalling the Google Home app to make sure it's up-to-date? Also, rebooting the doorbell might help to refresh the connection.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Archie
