I have a new cam w/floodlight and installation and addition to Google Home went well. The floodlight is hooked to a light switch. I only have timer options for the floodlight to be on between 30 secs and 5 minutes.
is there a setting for me to have no timer, I just want it to come on and off with my light switch?

The floodlight camera is designed so it should be receiving power all the time, so if it is controlled by a light switch, the light switch should always be on.

Understood, but problem is with the settings. I have to pick a floodlight timer and there is no option to opt out of the timer. Even with the light switch on permanently, floodlight shuts off after 5 minutes (max timer)

We don't have the floodlight camera. (We have the battery camera [plugged in all the time], which is the same camera without the floodlight fixture.) But any light switch for the floodlight camera should be on all time to provide power to the camera (or it will run on battery power, record only detected events, and be susceptible to depleting the battery if it is unplugged for long spells).
And you're right; "You can choose from 10 seconds up to 5 minutes." for the timer (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10500343), but even if you could opt out of the timer, your floodlight would then be on all the time.
I don't know if there's a setting in the Google Home app to turn the floodlight on and off at will, but even if there is, you'd have to open the app to do that.
