Google Cam on Floodlight - Green light stuck on

I installed the Floodlight last week using an electrician. The light is above my garage door. There are two issues -

1. The Camera loses is power connection. There is no problem with the power. It is getting constant power, but at some point switches to the battery and stops pulling power. There is no reason for this, as I had the electrician come back out and he confirmed that there is power to the unit.

2. The Camera is stuck in the recording mode - the Green Light is on all the time. This means according to Google that some is viewing. Because it is stuck in the green light position. I cannot connect to it after I tried to forget the device and then add it again.

In order for me to reach the device to try a manual disconnect it or reset it. I have to get a ladder. I'm not comfortable getting up on a ladder.

The greenlight getting stuck in the on position is a common problem, I have seen in just the past week. I have found at least 2 other people who have this same issue. Did Google do an update on the firmware to the device that may have unintentionally caused this problem? If so - that is an issue - we pay a lot of money for these cameras - and they should work as expected.

Is the USB plug seated firmly in the bottom of your camera, with the cord feeding towards the FRONT of the camera? (With the mounting clip on the floodlight camera, that should be the only way it can be mounted.) A few customers in this forum have reported problems with their USB plug.

A steady green light for your camera is normal; it means "Everything is working normally" (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9268073?hl=en&sjid=3487049978699621399-NC#zippy=%2Cnest...). Our battery camera (the same camera but without the floodlight) does the same thing; when plugged in, this camera can record 24/7.  (Ours does record 24/7 because we have a Nest Aware Plus subscription.)

If your camera's cord is securely mounted, and if you never turn off the circuit that includes your floodlight camera (a few customers have reported someone in the family inadvertently turning off the camera by turning off the circuit), then your camera should have continuous power and the green status light should always be on.

If you need to contact Support about whether your camera is defective:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
