Google Camera Flood Light and Google Hub Notifications

I'm trying to setup a notification on a Google Hub for my parents.  I thought it was going to be simple.  Has anyone figured out how to make a Google Hub play a sound when an event is detected by the Google (Nest) Outside Camera/Floodlight?  The only reason I have the hub is the outside camera.  I bought the outside camera, hub and subscribed to Nest Aware.  I've spent more hours than I want to admit trying to figure this out.

Anyone else figure out the magic sequence of steps?

Google Nest only sends notices to Nest Hubs when a doorbell is pressed ("Visitor announcements": https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451); there is no capability to send notices to Nest Hubs for other events. For events other than when a doorbell is pressed, you can only send notices to mobile devices like your phone or tablet.

I was afraid of that.  Unreal.  I spent all this money and it's useless. Urgh.
