Google Doorbell Tips that might be useful / Phone Alert sounds / volume

1) If you live on a busy street and your battery life is horrendous on your google battery doorbell (like 3 days!). Buy an after market adjustable wedge mount and angle the doorbell further over so that it hits the street less. Even if you use a zone, the doorbell seems to trigger to any motion even if it doesn't notify you, even outside your zone, even if motion events are off! (the doorbell push constantly lights up with passing cars / people ...🙄)

2) phone alerts for doorbell ( ring sound & volume). this was hard to find, but it may save you a lot of time if you can't find it. Ok, this is for Android 13 but may work for other versions (and maybe even iphones if the logic is similar).

In SETTINGS on the phone :
Notifications> app notifications> Google Home> notification categories >doorbell press
here you can change the alert sound and volume etc.

I hope this may help other people and save them finding this out the hard way as tthe LOGICAL place to have put that setting would have been in the google home app....

Hi @LemmysBallBag

Nice post!
Thanks for pointing out the sound notification change on the doorbell press!

No problem, took me ages to find!

Just a note that there is no such option to change the notification sound on an iPhone.
