I recently bought a new Nest Cam battery for outdoor usage. When im trying to add the device to my google home it always fails when it tries to connect to the wifi. I get the "Couldnt't connect to Wi-FI" error followd by 0.80 and sometimes 0.65. I already have various Google devices connected to my wifi and google home one of them being the Google Nest doorbell, which works perfect.
I tried many things:
- Seperating the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals
- Turning of the 5ghz signal
- Resetting the router
- Factory resetting the camera
- Tried to add it from a different phone
- Installed the lates IOS version
- Turned off my wifi and setup a hotspot on a phone using the SSID and pasword from my wifi and tried to add it to add it to my google home
It all returns the same error followed by 0.80 or 0.65. I dont know what to try anymore 😞

I was finally able to configure the nest cam. Just one additional step needed in the below option
After you create a hotspot with the same SSID and password as your wifi, you need to re-register your Google nest hub. Then the Google nest hub helps the nestcam to register onto the hotspot. After the nestcam is configured, switch off the hotspot and switch on the wifi. It should work. I tried it only once and it worked. So not sure if it works every time or not. But it seems there is a set of wifi routers with which this problem occurs. And the wifi router is provided by the internet provider.
