Google Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) - Pack of 2 Always going offline at night

I’ve got these camera’s, I was really disappointed that they were not compatible with the nest app (plus Alexa and all that goes with it). But I downloaded the Google home app and soildered on. They worked well for around 18months, but started going offline randomly between 1am and 3am and staying offline for upto a few days. I’ve tried them on a completely different wifi network and even brought them external APs giving each its own SSID as I’ve heard of issues on mesh networks. Cameras have been replaced once under warranty and the new ones have the same problem.

Mine have been going offline for over a year and I've spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars trying to make them work properly. I have 7 things that look like google nest battery cameras that have never worked properly ever. Im beside myself with trying to make them work they're just rubbish.

Hi Lance, I’ve filled the form about before and didn’t get a response, so it’s not really a good use of my time. I am keen to get to the bottom of this though, please bear in mind, these camera have work (well they never worked with the nest app) for the last 18 months, nothing has recently change on my home network, and others are reporting the same issue. What have Google changed? So my home network is quite complex, I use 3 managed switches and 5 access points (meshed so all have the same SSID). My switches have IGMP snooping enabled - to allow the multicast channels on BTTV - I mention this as could this contribute to the issue? I looked at replacing these with a POE camera solution, but that would work out expensive, so I’ve brought 2 outdoor wireless access point, I have these on their own LAN, each with a unique SSID, and we have managed 48 hours up time so far!
