Google Nest Camera Playback

Hi, i was just trying to review video and realized the playback is only available once an event is triggered (some sort of motion). However, for the time period i want to review, it appears i cannot playback. is there a subscription i can get which will allow me playback any/all time periods event without an event triggering the recorder? if so, what is that subscription called and how do i make that subscription change?

Hi Perrsf,  Just to be clear are you talking about the new Outdoor Door(battery) or the new Outdoor (battery) or the older cams?

It sounds like the subscription is not activated.   To check  this go Into the GOOGLE HOME app, select the camera, then the GEAR icon and then VIDEO. The very first entry should say "Video History 30-day or 60-day event history if you have paid for the Nest Aware subscription.   I think if it does not say that you can buy the subscription right there.  If not you can purchase NEST AWARE at the Google Store on your computer.

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I am terribly sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this! I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you. First off, I have some questions I’d like to ask you.

  • Do you still need help with this issue?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you done thus far? 

  • Have you tried to restart your device if you haven’t already?

  • If the restart didn’t work, have you tried to do a Factory Reset? This would be a last resort option, but would clear out issues and the device would essentially be ‘brand new’
