Google Nest Camera Won't Connect to Wifi

I had my Google Nest cameras connected, but had to change out the router. I was able to reconnect two of the older Nest cameras, but my Nest doorbell and two Google Nest cameras refuse to connect. I have reset them to factory settings, and am trying to connect them to the 2.4 GHz side of my router's wifi. I get to the "connecting to wifi" stage and then it seems to just time out, says, "Something has gone wrong...." I love cryptic error messages. Anyway, I've tried rebooting the router, restarting my phone, rebooting the cameras (I already did the reset on them), and nothing seems to work. I have even brought them right next to the router to eliminate any possible range or reception issues, still no connection. What am I doing wrong?

This used to work way better before Google bought Nest.

Hi @dcbehringer,

I appreciate you taking the time to post in the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with connecting your cameras to your WiFi; I'll do my best to help you.

Before we continue, I have some questions:

  1. What is the model of the cameras you want to add?
  2. Is there any light on the camera when you try to add them?
  3. Have you checked if you still have the cameras added to a home structure?

I’ll be waiting for your reply.

Regards,

Derick.
