Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) not able to be added to the Nest Camera App - why not?

I am a satisfied owner of Nest cameras in-house and outside with wi-fi connection to the Nest App, which gives really good monitoring capacity and movement/person messaging. Therefore, having bought a Google Nest Doorbell (Battery), I immediately set about adding the doorbell to my other cameras. But No! For some unfathomable reason, it is not possible to add my new doorbell to the Nest App.....very disappointing! I muc prefer the Nest App for monitoring cameras, as the Google Home app is too slow and also contains too many other products. Please Google or Nest, or both....make it possible to put my doorbell in the Nest app. I will take the battery life issue for understood.

Hello,  I'm an end user like you.  Unfortunately you just found out what many folks on this forum have been talking about for over 2+ years now.  When I found this out the same way you did I returned the new camera for a refund and I have been purchasing used Gen 1 cameras from ebay and it was worked out great and I'm very happy using the NEST app.  Google has been slowly moving the features of the Nest App over to the Google Home app but we are now 2+ years into this and it still isn't quite there yet.    Also, Google is now allowing people to move their old Nest (gen 1) cams into the Google Home app but I don't recommend it.  The Google Home app is still lacking in features and once you move the cameras over they will not appear in the NEST app anymore.
