Google best camera light won't turn blue

I'm in Canada and trying to set up my Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) in the Home app of my Pixel 6. I have a 1 GB Wi-Fi setup and a mesh network throughout the house so signal is not an issue anywhere. I'm in step 1 of the setup ("Plug in your camera indoors"). After plugging it into power and the light on the front of the cam is blinking white, it states "Once it turns blue, leave it plugged in and proceed to the next step." The issue is that it never changes to blue and just continues to blink white. If I click "Next" and try to proceed with the setup, it never completes the "Connecting" step and the error message says "Make sure your Nest Cam (battery) is on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone" but as this is a brand new cam I have no idea how it is expected to be connected to any network?? I've tried to factory reset the cam (holding button on rear for 5 seconds until it chimes and goes solid white) but this hasn't made any difference. I'm having the same issue with my Nest Cam with floodlight (wired) which I'm trying to set up. This all seems very buggy and like Google just pushed out shiny-looking products which have not been tested. Looking for confirmation that others are encountering this same issue and if there is a fix or workaround?

Hi Aq86,

Thanks for posting here in the Community and for sharing with us all the troubleshooting steps you've done. You did a great job plugging it in to make sure it has power. You're right, it should have a pulsing blue light as an indicator and be ready for set up. Holding it for 5 seconds is for restarting the device.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Locate the reset button on the back of your Nest Camera.
  • Tip: The reset button on the Nest Cam (battery) is located on the back of the camera head.

       2. Press and hold the button:

       3. At 10 seconds, the status light will flash yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.

       4. At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

       5. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.
