Hi
i am overseas and trying to connect my google nest 2nd gen indoor camera to the hotel wifi. It finds the device and connects and then fails after finishing up. The error message just states it has failed and to turn my iPhone on and off airplane mode and try the camera set up again? Any ideas how we can get this working?

It could be that your hotel's Wi-Fi network isn't suitable for Google Nest devices:

Before leaving home, did you remove your camera from the Google Home app while you were still on your home Wi-Fi network, and then do a factory reset.
Also, just as another Google Nest customer, I think that Google Nest customers are really not designed to be used as portable devices to be moved from one Wi-Fi network to another.

Also, the 2nd gen Nest Cam (wired, indoor) is only supported in these countries:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States (except Puerto Rico)

I am in Indonesia. Do you think that is why it is not working? This is the message I get after it connects to wifi
“Something went wrong try to reboot or turn your phone on and off aeroplane mode”
which I did try

I don't know what happens if you try to install a Google Nest camera in an unsupported country. It could also be your hotel's Wi-Fi network. Or it could be that you didn't remove your camera and do a factory reset before leaving home.

Hello everyone,
@Awerj1, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what is the light status of your Nest Camera? Aside from what MplsCustomer has shared, when connecting it to a different Wi-Fi network, you need to reset it to the factory default.
Looking forward to your response.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
Regards,
Emerson

I reset it by pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and the light turns white and then blue (or the other way around)

Hi Awerj1,
Thanks for getting back to us. The light should be a pulsing blue light, indicating that it's ready to be connected and will pulse slightly faster when your Nest Camera is trying to connect to the app and Wi-Fi network.
