Google nest doorbell (battery) not connecting

I had the doorbell connected and mostly working, except the wifi was spotty so it regularly said it was offline. To try and resolve that I wired in a TP link extender, deleted the doorbell from the Google home app and attempted to reinstall it. Now it constantly says “connecting to assisting device” which fails. I have deleted all other Google devices (thermostat, another camera, plugs) which didn’t work. I have tried adding a new home and connecting the doorbell before anything else, same issue. I have turned the power off to all of the previously mentioned items just in case they were still being picked up anyway, same issue. I removed the Google home display, same issue. I turned the fuses off to the whole house, still the same issue! I have reset the doorbell twice, turned off my phone twice, and now I can’t get anything else to re-connect. The only thing I can think of is that the doorbell is trying to connect to a neighbour’s device instead?

I feel like I’m losing my mind.

Can anyone help with my plight??

Hi Hvt105,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that you're trying to set the Nest doorbell (Battery) up but it fails. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • What’s the color of the LED status light?
  • How far is the device from the router?
  • Are there any other devices that experience the same inconvenience?
  • Is there any error code or message when it fails?

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
