Google nest doorbell unable to complete setup

I've been trying to set up the google doorbell and it seems to be connecting fine to the doorbell, but then it gets stuck at the part where it is trying to "download updates" and basically it doesn't start to download at all so it's stuck at the 0% for forever. And then the one time it did download, it was stuck at "installing" for almost half an hour before i gave up and tried to restart.

It seems to be a server issue but i've been trying a few times today and it's still not working. Any suggestions? Or anyway to contact google at all?

To contact Google Nest Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Hi san16,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties setting up your Nest Doorbell. If you're encountering issues with the setup process, particularly with the download and installation of updates, here are a few suggestions you can try:

  1. Ensure that your Wi-Fi network has a stable internet connection. Unstable or weak network connections can cause issues with downloading and installing updates. You can try restarting your router or moving closer to it to improve the signal strength during the setup process.
  2. Attempt to restart the setup process for your Nest Doorbell. Sometimes, temporary glitches can occur, and restarting the setup procedure can help resolve them. Make sure to follow the setup instructions provided by Google carefully.
  3. Verify if there are any firmware updates available for your Nest Doorbell. If you can access the device settings, look for an option to check for updates. Updating to the latest firmware may address any known issues and improve the setup process.
  4. If you're using the Nest app on a mobile device, try using a different device or a different version of the app to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, compatibility issues between the app and device can arise, and switching to an alternate device or app version may help.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
