HALF of my cameras stopped at the same time, and now have to factory reset!

I have a total of 8 cameras at my home. All Google Home. 6 of the 8 all went offline today at the exact same time. They are recording per the green light on the camera, but show offline in the Google Home application. One of the two floodlight cameras (and light) won’t work, several wired indoor ones, one of the doorbells, and one outdoor wireless. Have reset everything. Only way to make them work is go around and factory reset them. This takes so much of my time! What would make them do this?

I'm just another Google Nest customer (for over 4 years), but we've never had to do a factory reset on our Google Nest cameras, doorbells, Nest Hubs, or Nest Mini except once, when first setting up one of our Nest Hubs. Is anything at all going on with your Wi-Fi?  It seems extraordinary to have to reset multiple cameras.

You’re telling me! Some cameras (wireless outdoor) took 4 factory resets to finally get up and running. Wired doorbell (nest gen 1) is fried. Wired garage camera (nest gen 1), fried. Wired bedroom camera factory reset worked fine. Floodlight camera (wired) had to factory reset twice before it was able to be added again. Not sure what happened, but they all went out at the same time. No electrical surge (half are wireless anyway), no issues with internet. Google would not replace the doorbell or garage camera as they were older than a year old.

Hi folks,

@Akistner71, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far are they from your main Wi-Fi router? Are they connected to one of your Wi-Fi points (in case you have any)? In case it happened again and you see that they have a green light and can record an event, meaning to say they're still connected to your Wi-Fi, it's just that they are showing offline from the app. It could be that there's a Wi-Fi fluctuation at that time or there are a lot of devices using your internet. You may try turning off your mobile phone's Wi-Fi for a minute and turn it back on to refresh its connection to the Nest app. Also, try restarting your Nest devices and Wi-Fi router to refresh their connections to the Nest servers.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson
