Help with notification and nest doorbell

Mcgrew

I’ve installed the google nest doorbell, I don’t have a chime box but all is working I get a live feed from the camera and the doorbell rings through the speaker on the outside

i also have a google speaker inside the house

the problem is I don’t get any notifications the doorbell has been pressed either on my phone or one the speaker? What am I doing wrong???

all notifications are turned off, I’ve got announce visitors on, but nothing plays on the speaker or any notification on my phone

in the history all the events are there but nothing on notifications

im getting increasingly frustrated with it and am ready to throw it all in the bin

@Mcgrew

Do you have "Push notifications" turned on for your doorbell in the Google Home app? Is your speaker in the same Google Nest "home/structure" as your doorbell?

Hi McGrew,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that the visitor announcement isn't working, and I apologize for the inconvenience caused. I'm happy to help you!

For now, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

  • Is your speaker in the same home structure as your doorbell?
  • What kind of Nest Doorbell and Nest speaker do you have?
  • Has this worked before?

To get notifications on your phone, you need to turn on the push notifications, the visitor announcement works to ring inside your house, so they are different.

Please take a look at these articles: How visitor announcements work - Google Nest HelpGet doorbell visitor announcements on a speaker or display - Google Nest Help.

@MplsCustomer thank you for your help.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell
