Home App and Nest App

I purchased new cameras and the directions told me to set them up in my Home app (I already have a doorbell camera and thermostat). All of my devices show in my home app. However, I do not see the new cameras in my Nest app. How do I fix this issue?

The newer Google Nest cameras released starting in the fall of 2021 can ONLY be viewed in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app on your phone, or on the home.nest.com website on your computer. On the other hand, your older Google Nest cameras and doorbells (like your Google Nest Hello Doorbell) can be VIEWED in the Google Home app but can ONLY be administered in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website.

This is a deliberate design by Google Nest. Google Nest's Vice President promised improvements back in Sept. 2021 in this blog post, but there have been no updates since:

I'm just another Google Nest customer. Since Sept. 2021, we have had to use the Google Home app for our 2 new cameras, and the Google Nest app for our older cameras and doorbells. I

I believe the plan is to phase out the Nest app completely, so new devices now only appear in the Google Home app

We've been waiting 11 months for Google Nest to fully bringing our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells into the Google Home app, as Google Nest's VP promised 11 months ago, saying: "we are committed to bringing the experiences and Nest devices you have come to love in the Nest app into the Home app." Instead, we continue to have to use the Google Nest app for our older devices and the Google Home app for our newer ones.
