How To Turn On Nest Camera iPhone Sound Notifications

Hello

We have 2 nest outdoor cameras. We use the Google home app (I have checked the nest app as well) and cannot figure out how to turn on the sound to my push notifications on my iPhone. My notifications work, there’s just no sound, and seemingly no where to turn sound on. I was able to do it on my iPad, but obviously am not carrying that around with me all the time. Am I missing something, or is it not possible to have sound alerts for the nest on a iphone? Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of a camera?

If you have "Push notifications" enabled in the Google Home app for your Google Nest Battery Cameras, and if, under iPhone Settings | Notifications | Google Home, you have "Sounds" enabled, you SHOULD get sounds along with your alerts.  The sound you get is whatever sound you've configured on your iPhone under Settings | Sounds & Haptics | Default Alerts (this option became available in iOS 17), and the volume depends on whatever your iPhone volume is set at.

If you have the older, 1st gen Google Nest Outdoor Cameras, then under iPhone Settings | Notifications | Nest, you should have "Sounds" enabled.

We have both kinds of cameras, and get sound with our notifications.

I just checked and sounds are on, but I have not heard any sounds with any notifications. I tried turning it off and back on so we’ll see!
