How can the doorbell only play the ring on the nest hub without the assistant announcement?

Hi,

Is there any way to turn off the voice of assistant in the nest hub when the nest doorbell is pressed so that it only plays the chime on the nest hub without the assistant speaking?

I find it a bit annoying to always have the assistant talk (out of sync with my two nest hubs) when someone presses the doorbell. Instead I would like to just hear a chime inside the house.

Thank you for your support.

@Joe19

Google Nest does not give us the option to do that.

Thank you for the prompt answer. That’s a shame, a ring would clearly be sufficient for me and it doesn’t need Alexa to tell me that someone is at the front door.

Maybe I will find a workaround.

Hi everyone,

@Joe19 thanks for reaching out here in the Community. I know how ideal it is when you have the option to disable the voice announcement and leave the ring enabled when someone presses your Nest Doorbell. However, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature through the Nest app or Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback about your concern using this form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Thanks for answering, MplsCustomer.

Best,
