How do I use my nest doorbell without mounting with screws? I’m using Velcro but it won’t turn on

I am trying to use heavy duty Velcro to mount my nest doorbell however it is not recognizing it as being mounted. Does it require screws to activate and consider itself mounted? When I have it plugged in it works fine but when I unplug it to put it by my door it isn’t working. Maybe this is more of a battery issue? Just not sure. Any help would be appreciated

Hi windfalllanding,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation.

Nest Doorbells are designed to be mounted on the wall by the wallplate being screwed. You can learn more about this by checking out this article. Also, here's a guide for you on how to properly install your Nest Doorbell on the wall.

Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.

Best,

Zoe
