Indoor Nest cams not reconnecting at all

Knip

I have 13 indoor nest cams. Over the past few months 10 of them have stopped connecting to our network and dont even retry. Nothing on our network has changed at all. They are well within range of our wifi. This seems deliberate. I have even taken them down and tried to reconnect them as a new device both on the nest app and google home. It fails to find the cameras every time.

Hi @Knip,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that your Nest Cameras are failing to reconnect to the Google Home and Nest apps after you removed them due to previous connectivity issues. I understand that this not the expected experience, and I appreciate the details you’ve shared so far. No worries, I’m happy to assist you.

To help me narrow this down, I have a few questions:

  • Are you using a modem/router combo provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?
  • Are you seeing any specific error codes in the app when you try to reconnect them?
  • How far are the cameras located from your Wi-Fi router or nearest access point during the setup process?
  • Have you tried using a different mobile device during the setup process?
  • Have you checked that the Bluetooth on your mobile device is on and not actively connected to other devices, such as smartwatches or wireless buds?
  • What type of Nest Cameras do you have? This article might be helpful: Technical specs for Google Nest cameras and doorbells.

I’ll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Daniel
