Unfortunately, you cannot install or reinstall Google Nest cameras or doorbells without the QR code or the 6-character alphanumeric Setup Code.  That's why for years we've written down all of our Setup Codes and saved them.

I manged to locate the serial number, it was located, underneath the base inside. Howver I still haven't been able to access the option to change the wifi network from the previous to the new one.

@Adonegan1

Your options depend on whether you have a 1st gen Google Nest indoor camera (installed in the Google Nest app) or the 2nd gen Google Nest indoor camera (installed in the Google Home app).

If you have a 1st gen camera, you MAY be able to change your camera's Wi-Fi settings in the Google Nest app by going to Settings | Home info | Home Wi-Fi help and selecting your camera, but I think you have to do that while still on your old Wi-Fi network. If that option is not available, then you have to remove your camera in the Google Nest app in order to factory reset it, again while still on your old Wi-Fi network. If you cannot do that either, then you may need to wait until your Nest Aware subscription expires on that camera, which can take up to 60 days (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9249728).

If you have a 2nd gen camera, then you have to do a factory reset to clear the Wi-Fi settings (using the "Factory reset" instructions and not the "Restart" instructions: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162. Then you'll need to reinstall your camera in the Google Home app.

You cannot reinstall your camera with the serial number; you need the 6-character alpha-numeric setup code.

Hello< I think, I'm out of luck, I have a camera that was once in my office, now based in my home that I can't connect, I don't have the QR code nor the product identifier, My only thoughts are to let the google app search for a new device and hope it registers.

Best.

Hi Adonegan,

Thank you for posting. I understand that you would like to connect your camera to your home. I'm here to help.

To assist better, please tell me what type of camera you're trying to connect.

Since you don't have the QR code or 6-digit entry key to connect to the Google Home, the team would like to investigate more about this concern. Please fill out this form and let us know once you're finished. We'll have someone reach out to you via email from there.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Byron
