Is there any way to keep my camera recording even if the camera is unmounted?

So we had a situation where one person unmounted the camera out to prevent me from seeing what he did to my sister’s car (popped up her tires) and vanadalized the front yard. Is there anyway to keep the camera on even it is unmounted? And no it’s not connected to any wirings, if I have to charge the device I remove it and put it back when battery is full.

For the battery camera, under Settings | Device information | Camera mount, there is an option to select "Other mounts".

According to one customer post (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/What-is-the-point-of-the-nest-Mount-typ...), "Other mounts" "means the camera is always active regardless of whether it is mounted or not". I don't know if that's true or not.  There is a Google Nest response that says using "Other Mounts" could affect camera performance.
