Missing motion events

So, I finally switched over to Google from the original Nest (after being forced to).

Today I had a car drive in front of my house (house is 100 yards from the street) and the camera recorded the car driving in (as it should) but an hour later the same car left and there was nothing recorded and no notification.

Mind you the car drove by slow and about 20' from my camera and took around 10 seconds from when it entered camera view to leaving camera view but nothing.

I do not have any "activity zones" turned on so no limits there.

Any idea why the cameral would miss such a large object moving 20' in front of the camera?

Hey Folks,

We're sorry for any trouble this may have caused. Let's see what's going on.

A few questions: what type of Nest doorbell do you have? What is the make and model of your phone? Also, is this the first time it has happened?

I look forward to your response.

Cheers,

Renz

Not sure what the phone has to do with it since it's recording (or not recording) to the servers not the phone but I'll play along, I see this issue using iPhone 11 and iPad mini 5 and iMac 5k the mobile devices are all using the most current iOS.

First time but I had just migrated to Google from original Nest. Missed the giant car going by but at night it records every tiny moth that flies by.

Hi tmorris9,

Thanks for the update. To cover all the bases, the Google Home app should be up-to-date for us to make sure it's compatible with the latest iOS version. To do this, you can try reinstalling the app.
