I have a Google Nest Doorbell (battery version) that is less than 6 months old. There is a way in Live mode to Turn Camera Off, by clicking on three buttons in upper right hand of the screen, and then clicking on Turn Camera off option.Iused to be able to gym off camera by that means, now I can no longer can. When I try, nothing happens - it just seems to go in an endless loop of “turning camera off” and then never actually does. A Google tech told me that due to “upgraded cameras” the Turn Camera Off feature is no longer available. Doesn’t sound right to me. Anyone got a solution that does NOT involve a Restart with data loss? Thanks.

Hey there,
I am terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your Nest camera! I'm sure it's frustrating but I'm happy to look into this and see how we can help out. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to Restart your device. You do not lose datat with a restart, that would be a factory reset. By doing this, it should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
Best regards,
Brad

The Reset suggested by Brad did not work. I “reset” the Doorbell (battery version) several times successfully, but am still unable to turn the camera off.

Hi all,
Thanks for your help here, Brad and Archie.
We appreciate your efforts on this. Thanks for trying. Let's have a better look — a few questions: do you have an Android or iPhone? When did the issue start? Is there a pending software update for your smart phone? Also, do you have another phone to test if it has the same issue?
Give these steps a try:
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
JT
