From reading in the forum I learned that replacing the doorbell from nest with a new one from google might not be straight forward... so I would appreciate some advice:
I have a wird nest hello from 2019. I also have the pealing issue, but that is not the reason for replacment.
Migration into Google home app never worked but now also the chime connector seems not to be reliable anymore.
My question: which doorbell will actually work in my current situation?
- Power supply was done for the old nest hello by electrician
- Existining Chime Connector is a must keep!

The newer Doorbells come with their own chime connector, and it is a very simple swap out to add the new one. Chances are the older video doorbells internal battery (yes it has one) is bad. I had the first gen doorbell and the same thing happened, I had to disable the chime for it to work, otherwise it would power off when it was pressed.

I recently made the switch from the older HELLO doorbell to the new Gen 3 and the installation went off perfectly.
The new doorbell comes with a different (slightly re-designed) chime connector and you cannot use the old chime connector on the new door bell.
You will go into your NEST APP and select the HELLO doorbell and in the settings (gear) REMOVE the old door bell.
Then you MUST install the new Get 3 doorbell using only the GOOGLE HOME APP. It will not work with the older NEST app.
