Hi, I would like to replace one of my exterior lights with the nest cam floodlight. I'm unsure how to proceed as the light i'm replacing is connected to a relay with another light being controlled by 1 switch inside the front door.
My question, is it possible to disconnect the junction box I would like to replace with the nest cam flood light from the relay? Allowing me keep the functionality of the other light without turning off the camera.
As a follow up question, I was planning to power the flood light with an extension cord connected to a 110 outlet inside the garage. Maybe drill a hole to run the wire through. Is this possible?
Any help / advice would be appreciated as Im a total noob in electrical work. Thanks.

Hi 150dpi,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. The Nest Cam with floodlight is designed to replace an existing floodlight and requires a connection to your home’s power that provides 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60Hz. Disconnecting your junction box would depend on how the wires there are set up.You may drill a hole to your wall to have a better wiring setup and as long as the Nest Camera will receive enough power to work.
