Nest Cam Outdoor Battery Connected to POWER

How does the Nest Cam Outdoor (battery) "work" when you connect it to a power supply ? Can it record constantly for the 3 hour "free period" ..... Can it record constantly if you buy Nest Aware ?

I'm assuming it can also record motion events as usual .. with the same "retrigger" period, correct ?

@Andrew6123   asked this question and no one seemed to  answer.

Thanks, Googz

@jesseb

We've had a Google Nest Camera (Battery) for over a year now, plugged in with the optional power cable. With our Nest Aware Plus subscription, we get 24/7 history for 10 days and 60 days of event video history. When it is plugged in, it is NOT running on battery power and the battery stays charged (and will kick in if we unplug it or there's a power outage).  The only deficit is that it works ONLY in the Google Home app, but we're hoping, with the recent pending updates announced in this forum last week, that Google Nest will be bringing all its cameras into the same app.

If you do NOT have a Nest Aware subscription of any kind, you only get event video history for events detected in the most recent 3 hours.

Our experience is that event detection with the camera plugged in is comparable to our older Google Nest cameras, but if we unplug it and test it on battery power, it is not very good at detecting (and then recording) events.  (Others in this forum report similar experiences.)

I have the Google Nest Floodlight cameras attached to a power supply.   Which are really outdoor battery cameras with a power cable.  With Nest Aware, the cameras are recording 24/7.  The cameras act the same as regular battery cameras.    I am not sure what the fee period is.
