Nest Cam floodlight offline but camera online (Google Home)

I have several Nest cameras including  3 floodlight cameras. Two work perfectly, one was working great but now it says the floodlight is offline! The floodlight still works (lights up if you walk into its sensor area).  With the floodlight control offline I can't control the floodlight and it's constantly coming on and off whenever something comes remotely in range (highly annoying). What is the solution for this? The cameras are not that old and two of them work perfectly. And of course being floodlight cameras I have to set a ladder up again to reach it.. ugh.

Hi gadgettr1,

I’m sorry to hear that. No worries, we’ll check this out — a few questions: what’s the status light of the camera? When did the issue start? How far is the camera from the router? Is it paired to a 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network? Also, were there any changes to your Wi-Fi network?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

JT

Thanks JT but I've done all of that and more! I was on the ladder up n down several times to access this floodlight camera and got no resolution. I was on the phone the with Donald and two other techs that I got handed off from for who knows how long! It was supposedly getting sent up to a hardware specialist and I was supposed to hear back but needless to say I have not heard anything yet. I still have no control over the floodlight, no floodlight app (within Google home) for that camera and no options for it... it does come on whenever the sensor is tripped which is constantly and kind of annoying with no control of it. I have 5 NEST cameras including TWO other floodlights. The setup and power is fine, the router signal is fine, etc etc. There have been no changes to the wifi at all. All my cameras and floodlights were working perfectly for several months.

They've offered to replace it, but so far they haven't, still jumping through some hoops.

I have the same problem - camera is online, but floodlight went offline and rebooting router doesn’t get it back online. Is there a solution?  It was just installed by OnTech yesterday and it was online when the tech left and offline today. I need a solution that doesn’t involve climbing a ladder.

Did anyone get a solution to this?  I have multiple nest floodlight cameras and one of them now shows the floodlight offline. I’ve tried to reset the camera, I’ve checked breakers, my modem/router and connections are fine and the other cameras are operating fine.

Following…. I’m currently experiencing this issue as well.

I reset my camera and my router,  that worked for me.

This is the live-streaming link for Google home. This is where I was Able to reset the affected camera.

Thanks for sending link to the streaming website, but I don't see anything on the website that enables me to restart the floodlights - in fact, all I see is videos from the cameras  and I don't see the floodlight at all.  And I don't see a way to reset the camera to which the floodlights are attached.  The problem is that the floodlight went offline and I haven't found a way to get it back online without climbing a ladder to press the reset button.

That’s so weird. It won’t let me post a screenshot here but when I go to that link, all my camera locations are shown and there is a blue sliding tab to the right of the screen. I toggled that off, waited a minute and toggled back on to reset/reboot.

The blue slider only lets me turn on and off the camera but not to reboot.

I didn’t do anything else besides turn the camera off and back on and reset my router, that’s what worked for me. I hope you figure it out.

  • I started from scratch by deleting the camera, and I then went through the process of adding the camera. After it connected to the Internet, the floodlight was also connected.

Mine just started working again out of no where. Didn't reset anything.
