Nest Cam not connecting to T-mobile home gateway wifi

So brand new nest cams are not connecting to wifi network on my T-mobile gateway router. Spent an hour or more with Google support. They said could be faulty device, so I ordered new ones. Same issue. Called Google again. This time they say nest cams are not compatible with T-mobile routers if they are not wired! I don’t think this is right, and she just wanted to get off the phone. Help!

Hi @Stevyang,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing some inconveniences adding your Google Nest cameras to the Google Home app on your Wi-Fi network, even after contacting technical support. I'm happy to assist you.

Please provide the information below to determine why you cannot add your cameras in the app:

  • What are the models of your cameras?
  • When and from where was the device purchased?
  • How far have you gotten in pairing your device?
  • What's the error message you're getting when the setup fails?
  • What is the color of the camera's LED status light?
  • How far are the devices from the router?
  • Can you connect to the internet with other devices?
  • Are there any other devices that experience issues with the Wi-Fi?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the device you want to pair?
    • Those devices could interfere with the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal.

In the meantime, I recommend visiting the article Troubleshoot Nest camera and doorbell setup messages.

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Anders

I sure wish someone could post a solution as I'm having the exact same problem.  How can everything else connect find but this new nest cam is "not compatible?" MAKES NO SENSE!  I've spend hours trying to get this thing connected with no solutions as of yet.
