Nest Cam won’t download update

Rebooted and reset several times but neither one of my Nest Battery Cams will install in the app. I get to the point of download update and it just keeps staying at 14%. I reset the camera and try again then it hangs at 0% or 8%. I have never got either camera to work. I have a wired camera and doorbell and installed with no issues. Please help!

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what is the light status of your Nest Doorbell and Nest Camera? How did you perform the reset? Try reinstalling your Google Home app.

 

To reset the Nest Cam battery:

1. Locate the reset button on the back of your Nest Camera.

  • Tip: The reset button on your Nest Camera is located on the back of the camera head.

2. Press and hold the button:

  • At 10 seconds, the status light will flash yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

3. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.

4. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.

To remove it from the app, open the app, tap on the device, then tap Settings> Remove device > Confirm.

This is happening to me. I am trying to set up two new battery nest cams. I have 6 in my Home already. I am adding them through the app to devices and it gets all the way through, past device added etc., then gets hung up on "updating" either at 2% or 18%, then says that it was unsuccessful. I've tried deleting both from my home, full factory resets, deleting and reinstalling app (on two different iphones), resetting the router etc. Nothing is working.
