Nest Camera 2nd Gen / - Google home app

So I just got a Nest indoor cam 2nd generation, my first camera was a Dropcam and then I migrated to the Nest. I LOVED both and the Nest app. Now I am discovering that…

- I cannot ‘see’ my new camera on the Nest app?? I have 9 cameras.

- I can’t make custom video clips?

- I can’t put the cameras on a schedule?

what the heck? What company TAKES away functionality from their customers and touts the cameras as ‘next generation’?????

I have so much invested in these cameras, I am beyond disappointed. I’ll be converting to a new system as they each die or when the Nest app is taken away, whichever comes first.

Shame on your Google!! Terrible terrible terrible!!!

Hi Las2023,

Thanks for reaching us. Sorry for the late reply. Newer cameras use the Google Home app. Our team is working hard to deliver the best experience for our users — I'd suggest you submit feedback about it, here's how. Keep your eye on the Google Nest Community page for any updates.

Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours if I won't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Regards,

Juni

I submitted my feedback and the Google camera app is terrible and I never would’ve committed so much money to so many cameras had this been the App day 1. The Nest app and Nest cameras are way superior, I don’t understand how so many years later, the new app and cameras have less functionality -huge takeaway. I sure hope they fix it before my best cameras die and Google gets rid of the Nest app
