Hi all
I have 2 Nest Cam generation 1. In the last 2 years they have stopped 2 burglaries at my home due to the notification of ‘Sound’ events of people trying to break in through a window. This allowed me to set off the home alarm from a distance via the alarm’s app and scare off the burglars.
I have just purchased a new Nest Cam generation 2 but am unable to find the Notification settings to enable Notifications for Sound events, only Seen events (eg Person seen in room).
Surely this is not correct? If Sound notifications don’t exist on the new Cameras then I will need to wait for a burglar to actually break in and be in the house, before I get the Seen notification (which has a slight time delay!)? This will cause more damage, cost and unfortunately allow my pets to escape via an open window or door!
Can you please clarify - I hope I am just being a bit slow in finding the right settings as otherwise this is a major drop in functionality that has helped me enormously in the past.
Thanks

Unfortunately, the only sound events we can configure in the Google Home app for our 2nd gen Google Nest cameras (under Settings | Events | Heard events) are carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm sounds, as shown in the screen shot below.
Google Nest does NOT document this shortfall in the "Nest app only features" that are NOT available in the Google Home app:

Many thanks for the response.
What a real shame and complete oversight that Google has removed a piece of functionality that can actually help prevent a break in from happening in the first place as I can prove on 2 occasions! 🙄
