Hello, over the past few weeks I 'kitted' out my home with a Nest system, including smoke alarms, cameras with floodlights, battery cameras and doorbells.
Unfortunately my area is prone to 1-2 power cuts a week, mainly weather driven. However, after each powercut, ALL my nest products won't come online. I have been able to resolve by manually resetting and re-entering each product into the Google Home app again, however, this whole process takes me about 4-5 hours, if not longer. Obviously, in this day in age, i shouldn't have to go through this rigmarole, but its also unrealistic to dedicate a day of each week to resetting my nest system.
Can you tell me how i can i can fix this mess?
The system and install cost me $12k (11 cameras + 2 doorbells + 9 smoke alarms + hub + install).
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Daraflats, I'm an end user like you. Keep in mind that some alarms and some battery cameras do not remain continuously connected to your WIFI. This is because a constant connection to WIFI will drain the battery on those devices. They only come online when they wake up for a specific reason. For example when I look at my router I can see all my nest smoke detectors are offline. But as soon as I go to Nest App and actually select one of the smoke detectors to see its status, then it becomes on-line for a few minutes and then goes to sleep again. This might be what you are running into.

Thank you, helpful, but 80% of my cameras are wired (ex doorbells, and 1 camera)

Hi Daraflats,
Thanks for posting. I apologize for the inconvenience — let's get this sorted out.
A few questions: what is the color of the status light of the Nest camera devices after the power is restored? Do you have an iOS or Android device? Are the devices offline as well when you log in to https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI? Also, do you have a Wi-Fi mesh or extender?
Let us know, and we'll be happy to help.
I appreciate the help, EmptyNester.
Best,
Lance

Lance, perhaps view my initial message with the info - your approach works, that's not the issue

Hi Daraflats,
Thanks for getting back to me, and I’m sorry for the confusion.
If all Nest devices in your home go offline, there might be an issue with the router or network. Restart your router, modem, and any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters that you have.
Follow these steps to troubleshoot:
If the live video stream appears, the camera has reconnected. If none of your devices reconnect, there might be a network outage in your area. Contact your internet service provider for more information.
More information here: Troubleshoot offline Nest camera or doorbell.
Keep me posted.
Cheers,
Lance
