Nest Doorbell Gen 2 sharing stops my Phone notification

Jfutyb

My Nest doorbell wired Gen 2 was working fine. I shared  via good home to my wife and my phone alerts turned off for doorbell rings , packages and people notification and her phone was only getting them. The notifications setting on both phones are the same, they actually have to be, if I change settings on one the other changes so they are both the same  but my wife's phone only receives the alerts, not mine, off then off does change it. It's as if only one phone get alerts, the last one to join the home. If I remove her, my phone works again.

Thank You

@Jfutyb

That seems quite odd. If you are each a member of your Google Nest "household" using separate Google Accounts, and are logging onto the Google Home app with those separate Google Accounts, you should each have your own notification settings and receiving your own notifications.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the Google Home app on each phone?

Thanks, not yet but it works if I delete her from my home app. Do you have the same setup and it works? more than one person in the home and both get those notifications on their phone? Door bell presses and also packages and people alerts?

Thanks

Thanks

@Jfutyb

We have 2 people in our Google Nest "household". Each of us logs into the Google Home app and the Google Nest app with our own Google Account. Each of us gets the separate notifications we have selected. In addition, the notification settings on my iPad and iPhone are the same for each app because I log onto each device with my Google Account.

Thanks again, let me try reinstalling on my wife's phone and see what I  get,  appreciate the replies

I was able to get this working right, notifications are back. I  removed the app from both phones and reinstalled.

Thanks for the help.  Not sure if this is for a separate thread. But when using the talk and listen session button. I hear my own voice echo back from outside at the bell. Not a big issue.  Thanks for all the help

Hi everyone,

I'm glad that you're able to work this out.

@Jfutyb, I’m sorry you’re having issues with Talk and Listen for the Nest doorbell. A few questions: did this issue occur out of the box? Does it happen on multiple mobile devices or cameras? Is the echo persistent or intermittent? Also, is the doorbell in a case or housing?

Keep me posted.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
