Could someone tell me how I could go about buying a nest camera for my elderly parent and having it connect to his wifi but it show up in my nest app, so that I can keep an eye on him?

Hi lechristopherb,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand your desired set up. What we can suggest you do is set up his Nest Camera at his property using your own account. That way you can control it remotely. Hit this link for the steps.

Regards,
Emerson

Are you sure these are the right steps? 🙂 I didn’t see anything specific to the setup steps which would show how I set up a new device at my fathers and on his wifi. I suppose I just open the nest app on my phone and add device but is selecting his wifi easy enough and it will just show up on my app, as if it was inside my main home?

Hey there,

I just wanted to follow up to see if you still need our help. Please let us know as we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I appreciate the help, Emerson.

Thanks,

JT

Hello lechristopherb,

We appreciate you getting back to us. You need to be there at his property during set up because your mobile phone and his Nest Camera should be on the same Wi-Fi network. Also, the Nest app would require you to scan its unique qr code or set up key in order to proceed with the set up.

Thanks,
Emerson
